Mike

mike boise bass player with the Union Street VT Band 047

Mike is a consummate bass player. . . great meter, plays “solid in the pocket,” can lock into a repetitive “groove,” and offers strategically placed melodic fills to round out his style. All of these qualities are mainstays of his expertise on the instrument.

In addition, he has a great vocal style, singing both lead and backup harmonies.

He has been playing professionally for forty years and has toured extensively throughout the U.S., as well as in Europe and the Caribbean. Spending ten years in Nashville offered him the opportunity to record and play with some of Nashville’s finest players including:

Bonnie Godfrey (piano with Marshal Tucker Band), Robert Arthur (guitarist with Brad Paisley and Jeff Bates), Bob Hatter (guitarist with Keith Anderson), Eddie Beyers (Nashville session drummer), Blue Miller (Bob Seger, Gibson Miller, India Arie), Billy Mason (Tim McGraw), Chuck Leavell (Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Rolling Stones), Monty Allen (Alan Jackson), Steve McClure and Mike Palmer (Garth Brooks), Jeff Peterson (Clint Black), David Northrup (Travis Tritt), Jimmy Gunn (Brooks and Dunn) and Kristine Arnold (Sweethearts of the Rodeo).

* In addition, Mike has also played with one of Country Music’s biggest stars, Johnny Cash!

Mike also operates his recording studio at his home in Brandon, Vermont where he lives with his wife Maggie.
